San Antonio in Pictures

Image
I feel like my last post was a little gripe-y so I wanted to share some pictures from San Antonio.  Despite the heat, we had an enjoyable time.  It was nice to get away for a few days and spend some time as a family. I was so excited to stop at the Buc-ee's in New Braunfels.  I have had a long love for Buc-ee's despite never actually having been to one.  I completely geeked out in the parking lot and was totally amazed with the place. We will definitely be back. Jackson and me with Buc-ee the Beaver (not a chipmunk).  The sun was really bright where we were standing. And, yes, the gas was $3.09 on Friday and $3.05 on Sunday. Crazy!   Jackson and me on the Riverboat Cruise.  We could not get this kid to look at the camera all weekend.    A tired little boy up past his bedtime having dinner at The Rainforest Cafe.   Our hotel was across the street from the Alamo so of course we were there when it opened on Saturday morn...

Bluebonnets

I feel like a lot of my posts have been pretty down recently so I thought I would post something more cheerful. One of the things I love the most about living in Texas is bluebonnets in the spring.  There is nothing like the first spotting of bluebonnets each year to put a smile on my face.   So of course we had to find an opportunity to take some pictures for Jackson's first spring.  Jackson really didn't seem to enjoy having his picture taken but I think we got some good shots of him.

Spring has Sprung

Saturday I decided to venture down south on my quest for the perfect shower curtain for my guest bathroom. As I made my way down MoPac heading towards Barton Creek Mall, I spotted a sight that made my spirits soar. Finally the bluebonnets are in full bloom here in Texas. Despite the crazy weather we have been having, it was at last a sign that spring was here. However, bluebonnets don't necessarily mean that the cold weather is behind us. This picture was taken last Easter when it snowed in Texas in April. I must say the bluebonnets covered in snow made for some lovely pictures. And no, I did not find the perfect shower curtain. However, I did find some other fun goodies for my house.
