Spreading the News

I realize I have been negligent in posting recently.  The truth is I have just been too busy and too tired to find the extra time to bang out a post or two.  At least now I know the reason for the too tired portion.  That's right, I am pregnant.  I have known for a month now and I have been planning on posting the story of the night I found out.  But for now, I wanted to share the good news and explain my absence.  Now that Christmas is over and most of the running around has ended, I should have more free time to keep everyone updated on my fun little world.

Doggie Christmas List

I got this in an email today and I thought it was cute.  Plus, I could see Maverick writing a list just like this one.

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good dog this year (except that one time with the squirrel).  I will not chase the squirrel again and I promise to be good!  For Christmas I would like to have:
  • a new ball
  • treats
  • a new shirt for when it is cold
  • treats
  • a new chew bone or antler
  • treats
  • a new soft cuddly toy
  • treats
  • a spiffy new collar
  • treats
  • a nice soft bed
  • treats
  • new food and water bowls
  • treats
...and maybe some yummy treats.

Have a good trip in the sleigh and I promise not to chase Rudolph!

Sincerely,
The Dog

200 Posts

As I was logging into my blogger account to write a post apologizing for my absence post NaBloPoMo, I noticed that I had written 199 posts.  So here it is my 200th post.  And I have absolutely nothing interesting to share.  (Well, I do but that has to wait a little longer.)  It seems like there is an unspoken rule that you instantly become busy when the calendar flips over to December.  Something about this time of year means that we have minimal down time.  We haven't had time to get our tree up or any of the decorations out.  I still have shopping left to do thanks to some of my family members not sharing gift ideas with me which has to be finished before Friday since we leave for Alabama after Kiddo gets out of school.  It is going to be so nice to have my whole family together this year.  With my brother's deployments over the past few years, it is rare that we get to have everyone in the same place at the same time.  I could almost count on one hand the number of times that has happened since I moved to Texas 5 years ago.  Now if I could just get a little Christmas spirit going in my house I would really be ready for this trip.  At least I get a few days off to rest and enjoy my family.
